The Audi Q5 combines the poise of a sports car with highly variable interior and versatile options for leisure and family use, with strong and fuel-efficient engines, quattro permanent all-wheel drive and agile running gear incorporating a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch auto/manual transmission and performance for all seasons and all surfaces.

Audi Q5 Picture

Three body trim levels will be available at launch for the Audi Q5 – standard, S-line and off-road. The off-road pack includes underbody protection for front and rear, 19-inch alloys gives a more robust character while S-line adds a sportier look to the car.

The Audi Q5's 2.81m wheelbase claims to be the longest in its segment. The rear backrests are adjustable and foldable and there's extra storage under the boot floor to give anything from 540 to 1560 litres cargo capacity. Options include a rail mounting kit for luggage, a net partition and a luggage compartment liner.

Audi Q5 Engine choice

The Audi Q5 is available with a choice of three engines

The 2.0 TFSI has been entirely redesigned. The four-cylinder engine uses three high-tech features – turbocharging, petrol direct-injection technology and a variable valve-lift system. It's capable of about 155kW and 350Nm, the latter from 1500 to 4200rpm. Audi quotes a 0-62mph time of 7.2sec and top speed of 138mph. The 2.0 TSFI transfer its powers through a S-Tronic, a twin-clutch auto/manual-sequential transmission with seven ratios.

The four-cylinder 2.0 TDI uses a new common-rail fuel injection system; like the petrol engine, it has two balance shafts. It also produces 350Nm, but from 1750-2500rpm, and maximum power is listed as 127kW. It'll do 0-62mph in 9.5sec and has a top speed of 130mph. The 2.0 TDI transfers its power through a six-speed manual

The V6 TDI engine is capable of 500Nm from 1500-3000rpm and 180kW. It's more sports car than SUV with a claimed top speed of 138mph and a 0-62mph time of 6.5sec. The 3.0 TDI transfer its power through a S-Tronic, a twin-clutch auto/manual-sequential transmission with seven ratios.

Audi Q5 Quattro

The Audi Q5 has quattro permanent all-wheel drive as standard. In normal running conditions, the transfer case distributes the power to the front and rear axle in a 40:60 ratio for a rear-focused style. When required, the quattro 4wd can deliver up to 65 percent of the power to the front axle and a maximum of 85 percent to the rear axle.

Audi Q5 Extras

Also available are parking radar and rearview camera, lane departure warning system, following-distance cruise control, keyless entry, tyre-pressure monitors, glass sunroof, three-zone auto aircon, sun blinds, cornering lights, power tail door and a swivelling trailer hitch.
