It is not often that we see a new car’s marketing campaign get a special tune made for it, specially when all the sounds used to create this tune came from the vehicle itself.

Once again Audi innovates in the promotion of a new model. Marking the launch of the new Audi TT RS and to celebrate the unique sound of its five-cylinder engine, Audi teamed up with Leftfield’s Neil Barnes and acclaimed producer Nic Rapaccioli to create an exclusive two minute track entitled Die Funf Zylinder (The Five Cylinder).

The track was created using only sounds made by the Audi TT RS. First engineers recorded a multitude of samples to capture sounds that mirror effects and instruments found in electronic music while sounds of the TT RS engine running at different speeds created the melodic tunes of the track. The idea came from the agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH), Audi UK’s advertising partner since 1982.

Peter Duffy, Audi UK Head of Marketing said,

“Audi is all about innovation through advanced technology. The opportunity to create content that is Vorsprung durch Technik in itself is something we’re very excited about.”

Audi’s stunning new A5 Cabriolet has arrived in Australia, offering a choice of three sporty engines, quattro all wheel drive and S tronic transmission as standard.

The new Audi A5 Cabriolet is expected to follow in the footsteps of its successful predecessors. The brand has offered a premium mid-sized convertible since 1991, with around 227,000 units sold to-date.

AUDI AG sold 2.1% more vehicles worldwide last month than in July 2008. As the market’s leading premium brand, Audi benefited from growth in China to reach a new monthly sales record there. In the United States and Western Europe, Audi’s sales progressed better than those of its competitors.

Member of the Board of Management for Marketing at AUDI AG, Peter Schwarzenbauer said:

“In recent months we’ve bolstered our brand worldwide by investing wisely; and with our sales success in July we further increased the pressure on the competition. Our financial data show that we are not only achieving impressive sales figures, but that our business is above all profitable; our encouraging development is long-lasting.”

Sales figures in China grew by 42.5% in July and in the Asia-Pacific region as a whole, Audi sold around 102,500 premium vehicles from January to July. Audi registered a year-on-year increase of 37.1% in July alone.

In a premium market still in recession, Audi posted the strongest growth among its German competitors and increased its U.S. market share by 1.4 percentage points in July to 7.6%. With such strong sales figures Audi can continue to provide great customer service and develop state of the art cars.

After our post last week showing some Audi A8 teaser images.  We can now show you some more detailed images of how the new Audi A8 will look.

The new Audi A8 is more of an evolution in style from the old A8 rather than a radical update. With the debut of the Audi A7 concept already set for late 2009, the Audi A8 is the  grown-up sedan for CEO’s and board members , leaving the New Audi A7 to challenge the Mercedes-Benz CLS while the new Audi A8  remains as a Mercedes S-Class competitor.

Expect to see a new range of engines and an eight-speed automatic transmission when the Audi A8 hits showrooms next year. And in the USA the New Audi A8 has been spotted on the road as seen in this picture.

Audi launches fleet servicing scheme to increase the number of lease cars that are looked after by the franchised dealer network.

Audi has already signed most of the top 50 leasing firms to the plan under which they have agreed that 90% of Audi servicing will go though the Audi dealer network in the first year, followed by 92% in year two and 95% in year three.

According to Business Car, as part of the service Audi is offering an unlimited mileage warranty on cars supplied to lease firms and has a introduced a fix-price servicing system.

Fleet director Iain Carmichael said: “It’s important to have a profitable dealer network so we can deliver an Audi experience.

It makes sure our customers have their cars serviced by an Audi dealer and the contract hire industry gets a good price.”

Audi is always looking for ways to improve customer satisfaction and this fleet servicing scheme is another way of achieving this.

Audi GMBH has released some initial teaser images for the new Audi A8 which is due to go on sale in early 2010.

Audi chief designer Stefan Sielaff said.

“The first generation [of the Audi A8] was very dogmatic and product-design-like, With the second generation, the theme was ‘elegance’: softer, flowing lines. The upcoming third generation will be stronger, sharper, and more precise.”

Top Gear thinks that the New A8 will look similar to the A7 Sportback Concept car shown at Detroit earlier in the year and if you compare the A7 sport back concept and the sketch of the New Audi A8 I think most would agree with them. Expect more information and some proper pictures at the Frankfurt motor show next month.
