For those of that are no familiar with the acronym BIVSA, it stands for British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards. The A5 Cabriolet is one of four Audi models to be honoured as best-in-class in the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards 2010. The A4, Q5 and S8 were also winners in their respective categories.

Audi has yet again been amply rewarded for its uncompromising approach to car security with four category trophies in the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards, held recently at the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre in Thatcham, Berkshire.

Audi models were voted best-in-class in four of the specific model categories assessed by the experts using the New Vehicle Security Rating process that awards star ratings based on ‘theft of’ and ‘theft from’ protection. The Audi A4 Saloon, Audi A5 Cabriolet, Q5 compact SUV and Audi S8 luxury high performance saloon all achieved higher NVSR scores than their respective competitors. Since the awards began in 2006, the Vorsprung durch Technik brand has secured no less than 15 category wins, bearing testament to its absolute commitment to security.

This meticulous approach has not only brought outstanding anti-theft protection for Audi customers, but has also helped to ensure that their insurance premiums are the lowest in the premium sector, according to data sourced from the Association of British Insurers (ABI) group ratings database.

Commenting on this impressive achievement, Director of Audi UK Jeremy Hicks said: “The plaudits recognising the efforts of Audi AG’s security team in making the Audi range as secure as possible just keep on coming year after year. Award-winning security is achieved right across the Audi range through features including Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser technology with interior ultrasonic protection and anti-tow sensors, Thatcham Category 4 locking wheel bolts and extensive covert and overt marked parts.

What a year it has been so far for Audi, on the year it celebrates 100 years of existence its comprehensive range of cars simply can’t stop winning awards all over the world.

In Germany, Audi won nine awards in the Sport Auto Readers Choice Contest organised by the automotive magazine Sport Auto. The Audi RS6 once again, led the way and it was voted the best vehicle in its class, while the Audi S3,  A3 2.0 TDI, TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI, TT RS Roadster and Audi R8 were voted second in their respective categories and to wrap things up the A4 3.0 TDI Quattro, the A4 3.2 FSI Quattro and the Audi S4 grabbed three outstanding third places.

Meanwhile in the UK, Audi’s range won for the fourth consecutive year the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards held last week at the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre in Thatcham, Berkshire. So far it has been a great year for Audi, on the year of its 100th birthday the German company can’t stop winning awards, this time it from renowned German magazine “Auto Bild” since 2006 the publication has been doing the “Auto Bild Design Award” and Audi has been a constant in the short list of winners ever since.

This year, Audi grabbed two first places and a second place in the vehicle design poll. The Audi A4 allroad quattro took the top spot in the category SUVs, Vans and All-wheel Drive Vehicles with a smashing 44.7 percent of readers voting for it.

Another number one pick by readers, this time in the category Study and Concept Cars, was Audi’s Sportback Concept which was recently unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show early this year, and complementing the Audi’s success the newly launched Audi A5 Cabriolet came in second place in the Coupes and Convertibles category.

A total of 100,000 readers took part in the poll, in total there were 83 vehicles in three different categories, so I think it’s fair to say, Audi is having fabulous centennial year.
